De preview van Hilary collectie met Smash + Tess is verschenen, daarnaast heeft ze een interview gehad voor de blog van de website. Nog een weekje wachten voor de collectie gelanceerd wordt.

FAN MOMENT! We have loved Hilary Duff for like….forever, so having the opportunity to collaborate with her – hello! This is what dreams are made of! Whether you’re like us and had all the ‘Stuff by Duff’ (we see you OG Hilary fans!) or are just discovering Hilary’s laid-back and always chic style, you’re going to love this collaboration! Yes – we are as excited for this collab as you are, #smashtessfam!

The collection is California-inspired with global accessibility and wearability. It was designed in Hilary’s backyard with Ashley (COVID safe, of course!). The two got to know each other very well through the design process, and we couldn’t wait to introduce Hilary to our #smashtessfam! We have all the deets on the collaboration, her pregnancy and the number one skincare product you’re definitely going to want to go buy!

WHY DID YOU WANT TO COLLABORATE WITH SMASH + TESS?
I’ve been wearing Smash + Tess for a few years, and when I found out it was a female-owned company, I loved it even more. I got excited to collaborate with the owner, Ashley and create something for my daughter and that I know we’re going to live in!

WHAT WAS IT LIKE DESIGNING THE COLLECTION?
One of the best parts about this project for me was that everyone who was involved were women! We all have different things going on in our lives, different bodies, different wants and needs, but we all sat down and collaborated on everything from the colours, fabrics, fits…it was such a fun, collaborative experience.

WHERE DID YOU GET YOUR INSPIRATION FOR THE COLLECTION?
I pulled inspiration from Pinterest, interior magazines I had at the time, and thought about prints and textures that I know would fit into my current wardrobe.

WHAT WAS IT LIKE WORKING WITH ASH AND THE S+T TEAM, ESPECIALLY DURING A PANDEMIC?
I’m so inspired by Ashley’s vision for her company. She truly cares about women and making them comfortable and cute! Also- the pros of working during COVID times is that everyone comes to you! It was really nice to not have to leave my house. We sat in my backyard, all masked-up and we talked styles and fabrics and had a blast. We drank coffee, we chatted, and we’d get off topic a lot, but it made it all really fun and we got to know each other really well.

WHAT WAS THE MOST FUN PART OF DESIGNING A CLOTHING COLLECTION?
Each time that we would meet, we would get further along in the process, until it was complete – it’s fun to be part of something from start to finish! I loved sitting outside in my backyard with Ashley and the S+T team, while playing with different textures and fabric swatches.

WHAT ADVICE DO YOU HAVE FOR OTHER PREGNANT MAMAS DURING THESE STRANGE TIMES?
The only positive thing about Covid has been the reminder of what is truly important and being forced to simplify and be more still. That is a perfect motto for a pregnant woman and one I’m still working on myself! This pregnancy has been a bright light for the whole family! Of course, it’s been hard not being able to see as many loved ones as I would like, but it’s created a lot of space to turn inward and connect with my body and my baby.

IF YOU WEREN’T AN ACTRESS, SINGER, AND BUSINESSWOMAN, WHAT WOULD YOUR DREAM JOB BE?
In the past 10 years, I’ve realized how much I love interior design and architecture. I’m really good at spending money and it would be cooler if I could just spend someone else’s money while creating a transformation.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVE PIECE FROM THE COLLECTION?
I would say the Hilary Romperalls, in both colors, I can’t choose! I’m obsessed with the texture of the linen! They’re so flattering and comfortable.

WHO INSPIRES YOU?
I’m a little bit of a scatterbrain and the projects in my life are constantly moving which is great for my personality. People like Ashley inspire me, female business owners, creative types with a strong vision of what they’re doing. Also, of course, my children, my husband, and traveling – I wouldn’t say it’s one person or one thing!

WHAT DOES YOUR ULTIMATE SUNDAY LOOK LIKE?
A morning hike with my children and dogs. An iced almond milk latte. A short trip to the farmer’s market. Making homemade olive bread. Hanging with the kids and doing what they want to do.

WHAT IS YOUR GO-TO PUMP UP SONG?
Levitating by Dua Lipa – I’m obsessed!

DESERT ISLAND BEAUTY PRODUCT?
I have 2 problems with this question because 1) I’d like to bring a makeup bag, duh! 2) I’m a product junkie but since you’re forcing me, I’ll choose SPF, and right now I love the Solid + Striped face sunscreen because it’s a sunscreen meets serum and it’s $14 (USD) so you’re welcome!

FAVE PLACE TO ROCK YOUR ROMPERS?
Casual night in cooking with my girlfriends, out shopping with my mini, date night with a pair of heels, “I’m not changing for 2 days” vibe, road trip, and heading to work…is that too many??? If that’s too many rompers for you then I guess you can’t party like me!

WHAT’RE YOU MOST LOOKING FORWARD TO ABOUT HAVING THREE LITTLES?
The Thanksgiving & Christmas tables in 10 years, but other than that I’m terrified!

Hilary heeft recent een interview gehad met PureWow waarin ze verteld hoe het staat met haar opkomende projecten: ‘Younger’, kinderboek ‘Brave Little Girl’ en haar samenwerking met Smash + Tess.

There’s no denying that Hilary Duff has been a hard-working individual since she was a young girl (seriously, her Lizzie McGuire career began all the way back in 2001). And it seems like the 33-year-old actress isn’t slowing down anytime soon, considering she has so many projects in the works that it’s hard to keep track.

PureWow recently sat down to chat with the actress about her partnership with Nutella in honor of World Nutella Day on Friday, February 5. In addition to discussing how she would be spending the holiday—by participating in a special virtual cooking class—we just had to ask for details about any projects she’s been working on (natch).

And aside from shooting her hit show, Younger (and growing a baby in her belly), the soon-to-be mother of three has been busier than we thought. Turns out, Duff has a book as well as a clothing collab on the way.

“I wrote a children’s book called My Little Brave Girl which will be out on March 23 and I’m so excited for the release,” Duff revealed. “I also have a collaboration coming out with the romper company Smash + Tess on February 22. The collection is super wearable and versatile and there’s even a few matching things for minis and moms.”

Oh, and did we mention she even teased some type of beauty venture? However, she made sure to remain mum on the details. Duff continued, “I’m also working on something in the beauty space that I can’t quite discuss yet but is going to be a very fun adventure!”

A new baby, a children’s book, a clothing collab and a potential beauty project? We’re seriously impressed.

… And talk to your sons, not just your daughters, about periods.

As a pre-teen, Lizzie McGuire helped young girls like me prepare for those universally awkward coming-of-age moments, like our first kiss or first bra shopping experience. While we never got an episode about Lizzie learning to use a tampon for the first time, it’s fitting that with Hilary Duff’s new partnership with organic feminine care brand Veeda, she’s helping the next generation of girls — including her daughter — feel less embarrassed about the milestone.

Duff’s role as chief brand officer for the plant-based and eco-friendly line of tampons and pads started organically (no pun intended), she says. After stumbling upon natural diapers on Amazon for her daughter, Banks, from Happy Little Camper, she started working with the company and then learned about their sister brand, Veeda. “Honestly, I was using the same tampons that I had since my mom taught me how to use them, so it opened up this whole new world for me,” Duff says. “I was like, Oh my God. I am making all these good choices for my family and for my kids and what we eat and the perfume that I wear and the products that I shower with and I just never really even thought about it.”

Hilary Duff on growing up in the spotlight and the Lizzie McGuire reboot
“It’s not like I didn’t sneak off and party and get drunk,” says the actress

“‘Woah! What’s that?!'” Hilary Duff is walking me through her mid-century-modern Hollywood home, doing an impression of her husband, Matthew Koma. She takes me past chic velvet curved sofas towards a stylish monochrome tiled kitchen and explains,“I’ve rearranged the house, like, 19 times.

“Matt will come in and the chairs that were in our bedroom are now in the hallway or there’ll be a new piece of art I’ve bought and he’s like, ‘What is going on? Are you OK?’ And I’m like, ‘I’m just bored!’”

With no sign of lockdown easing in Los Angeles when we speak on a video call five months into the pandemic, the 33-year-old actress and former Disney star is almost out of options.

With filming for the seventh series of her TV show Younger on hold, along with other projects, she’s tried walking meditation in the hills around the home she shares with musician Koma and her two children.

When that didn’t work, Duff took up guitar lessons on Zoom, or rather, hiding from her kids in the bathroom twice a week while she practises old-school theme tunes from films like Batman and Mission: Impossible.

And then, of course, there are the “quarantine distanced dinners” with her best mates, as well as looking after her and Koma’s daughter Banks, two, and her son Luca, eight, from her first marriage.

“There are times where I’m like, ‘I need to go and drink too much wine with my girlfriends.’ You know what I mean? My husband’s like, ‘You go, I’ve got the kids.’ He could be in quarantine for years more!

He’s like, ‘We have everything we need, what’s bad about this?’ I’m a homebody too, but I do need to go out with my girlfriends once in a while.”

Hilary Duff in lockdown is basically all of us. This should come as no surprise to anyone who came of age with Duff as the Disney Channel’s teen queen Lizzie McGuire in the early ’00s.
