Debra Tate, de zus van de vermoorde actrice Sharon Tate heeft gereageerd op het feit dat er een film gemaakt wordt over haar zus. Hierin noemt ze het smaakeloos dat er een film wordt gemaakt over zulke gruwelijk gebeurtenissen, en noemt ze het uitbuiting om gebruik te maken van het feit dat het nu bijna 50 jaar geleden is dat haar zus vermoord werd. Hierop heeft ze niet direct commentaar op de wijze waarop Hilary de rol van haar zus vertolkt in de film, ze blijft het smakeloos vinden ongeacht wie de rol vertolkt/

“It doesn’t matter who it is acting in it—it’s just tasteless,”

“It’s classless how everyone is rushing to release something for the 50th anniversary of this horrific event.”

Mogelijk zou ze kunnenreageren op de wijze waarop Hilary enkele foto’s op instagram plaatste op de set van de film. Enkele volgers gaven bij een foto waarbij Hilary laat weten bevallen te zijn van een Teddybeer de volgende reacties: : “Yeah too bad Sharon never got to have her son. Poor taste,” en “Did you fall down and smack your god damn head on the concrete?! This is post is so inconsiderate, heartless and flat out disgusting. The minute Sharon’s sister Debra sees this you’re going to regret it.” Hilary zelf heeft nog niet gereageerd op de berichtgeving.

Naast de film ‘The Haunting of Sharon Tate’ zijn er momenteel nog enkele andere film producties over de gruwelijk moorden door de Manson familie:
– Regisseur Quentin Tarantino bezig zijn met een film over de Manson familie, geruchten hierover gaan sinds vorige zomer al de ronde. Leonardo DiCaprio zal hierin een rol spelen.
– ‘The Crown’ acteur Matt Smith is recent gecast in als Manson in Mary Harron’s film ‘Charlie Says’, wat gaat over 3 vrouwen die betrokken waren bij verschillende moorden van de sekte.

Het is nu officieel bevestigd dat Hilary een rol heeft in de nieuwe horrorfilm ‘The Haunting of Sharon Tate’. Enkele achter de schermen foto’s staan in de galerij.

Hilary Duff speelt de titelrol in de psychologische horrorfilm The Haunting of Sharon Tate, die draait om de actrice die is vermoord door de sekte van crimineel Charles Manson.
Dit is al de derde film die momenteel in ontwikkeling is over de moorden die gepleegd zijn door de sekte van Charles Manson, die in augustus van 1969 een aantal van zijn volgers opdroeg de bewoners en gasten van een huis in de Hollywood Hills om te brengen.

Vijf mensen kwamen daarbij om het leven, onder wie actrice Sharon Tate, de op dat moment acht maanden zwangere vrouw van Roman Polanski.

Duff (30), momenteel ook te zien in de komedieserie Younger maar vooral bekend van haar rol in Lizzie McGuire, speelt de titelrol in de film over Tate, zo meldt Deadline. Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls) speelt Tate’s ex-vriend in de film die draait om de laatste dagen in het leven van de actrice.

Het plot is geïnspireerd op een interview dat Tate een jaar voor haar overlijden gaf. Daarin vertelde de actrice dat ze nachtmerries had over geesten die in haar huis spookten en daarin ook haar eigen dood veroorzaakt door een satanische sekte voorzag.

Andere Manson-films
Ook regisseur Quentin Tarantino werkt aan een nog titelloze film over sekteleider Manson. Hierin zijn onder meer Leonardo DiCaprio, Margot Robbie (ook in de rol van Tate) en vermoedelijk ook Tom Cruise te zien.

Dinsdag werd bekend dat The Crown-acteur Matt Smith de rol van Manson gaat spelen in Charlie Says. Hierin ligt de focus op drie jonge vrouwen die schuldig zijn bevonden aan moord. Zij worden in eerste instantie veroordeeld tot de doodstraf, maar dat wordt later omgezet in een levenslange gevangenisstraf.

Manson kreeg voor het aanzetten tot de gruwelijkdaden levenslang. Hij stierf afgelopen november op 83-jarige leeftijd.

Hilary postte van de onderstaande foto een kleine video op haar instagramaccount. Hierbij onthult ze gecast te zijn in een nieuwe film terwijl ze haar nieuwe brillencollectie showt. Ze benadrukte hierbij dat ze niet echt zwanger is maar op de set van haar nieuwste film.

Het is nog niet officieel bekend gemaakt in welke film ze gecast is, volgens de geruchten zou dit de film ‘The Haunting of Sharon Tate’ zijn. Deze is gebaseerd op het waargebeurde verhaal van actrice Sharon Tate die door aanhangers van sekteleider Charles Manson in 1969 vermoord werd, terwijl ze 8,5 maand zwanger was.

For many millennials, Hilary Duff will always be Lizzie McGuire, the TV character we watched navigate the complex worlds of middle school, prepubescent crushes, and bejeweled hair accessories.
This isn’t lost on Duff, so when she has the chance to give a subtle nod to her past as Lizzie, she goes for it. Launching today is her latest side project that comes with a little McGuire flair: A massive line of eye glasses and sunglasses she designed for GlassesUSA.com, all of which are named after influential, powerful women like Clara Barton, Joan of Arc, Jane Austen, and, you guessed it, Lizzie McGuire.

We sat down with Duff ahead of the announcement to discuss her favorite glasses from the collection, the meaning behind her latest tattoos, her favorite new beauty discoveries, and more.
I love your new Bette Davis-inspired tattoo from Dr Woo: What does her quote, “Take Fountain,” mean to you?
“At first I thought, ‘I hope that people don’t think that the idea behind it is taking a shortcut,’ because that’s not what my intention was by any means — it’s supposed to be sassy, because this town is hard. For her [Bette Davis] to sit there and think of her answer and come back with that? People ask me all the time, what kind of advice do you have for young actors, but there is no one thing, there’s no one formula, so for her to say, “Take Fountain [Avenue]” — it’s brilliant. And I have been there, trying to get to three auditions in one day and just stuck on Santa Monica Blvd [instead of taking the faster route, Fountain]. The meaning for me was not taking the main road, so it is funny, but it also has a little more meaning to me.”

What are your favorite tattoos?
“I have a little ghost on my arm — my best friend and I have the same tattoo and it says ‘ride or die’ on the hem of the ghost’s skirt. This is definitely my favorite and no one really knows it’s there. The ghost doesn’t really represent anything [laughs]. My bird is probably my other favorite tattoo and it doesn’t really mean anything, either.”

You’ve had a lot of beauty phases. Which would you revisit and which would you rather forget?
“I would like to have dark hair again. I really struggle with the bangs; I have such a love-hate relationship with bangs. They’re great for the first week and then I am growing them out for years to come. I will probably never go blue again, but that was a thing I loved. Never say never — years ago, I never thought I’d wear high-waisted jeans and now that’s all I wear, so…”

I read your NYT article on your favorite products and you know your stuff! What’s your favorite recent discovery?
“There are a few. For one, I am obsessed with Tata Harper. I love the idea of natural stuff, but I don’t always feel like it works, but I feel like her shit actually does, especially her eye creams. Then one tool that I love is Nurse Jamie’s little roller ball thing. I don’t have time to do it all the time, but when I am filming [Younger], they pick me up for work, so I just sit there and roll my face out on the way. I swear to god it helps decrease puffiness and tightens my skin. It doesn’t have long-term benefits, but if I’m getting picked up at 4 in the morning and working until 9 at night, then this helps.”
Hair accessories are back this season, so I have to ask: Did you get to keep any of Lizzie McGuire’s hair accessories?
“Oh my gosh, no! [Laughs] I wish I had some of the Lizzie hair accessories, but let me tell you that the amount of organization it took for them in the hair and makeup room was insane. But no, I didn’t keep a single one… I don’t think that rhinestone chopsticks will ever come back again, but you never know! Just watch, Haim is probably going to wear a butterfly clips soon and we’re all going to say it’s cool again!”

Hilary is binnenkort te zien in een aflevering van de televisie-serie ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’. In de serie gaan bekende persoon op reis om zijn of haar stamboom te onderzoeken. Voor de aflevering reisde Hilary’s o.a. al af naar de Amerikaanse staten Noord-Carolina, Viriginia, Washington en Schotland in GB.

Het is nog niet bekend wanneer de aflevering te zien zal zijn, de Amerikaanse versie van de serie wordt uitgezonden op de NBC.
